At Alluvium Cellars, we strongly believe in building and supporting the community around us...

At the same time, we are a bootstrapped, fledgling winery with limited production and are struggling to become profitable, so we need to be thoughtful about when and how much we donate. Most people don't realize that wineries receive requests to donate wine to a dizzying array of charitable causes on a near weekly basis.

In order to be consistent, we've developed a policy that will help inform the charitable causes that we will consider donating to. Moving forward, we will strongly consider all donation requests from Alluvium Club Members that are asking us to donate to a 503(c)(3) organization that they are directly involved with. Consideration doesn't mean that we will donate to all requests that meet this criteria, but this does mean that we generally won't consider requests that don't meet the criteria. In cases where we do choose to donate, we will typically provide a swag bag with Alluvium merchandise along with a tasting package for 8 guests. We've seen these packages sell for $250-$750 at charitable auctions in the past. Note that we do not usually donate wine bottles/cases or ask our staff to assist at charitable events.

If you're not an Alluvium Club Member, if your organization doesn't meet the criteria above, or if we tell you that we are unable to meet your donation request, that doesn't mean we're not a fan of you or your cause. There are so many great organizations out there—and we're always rooting for them. We would also love to see you join our club if interested in supporting us as we support your cause.
